Migration Summit Releases 2024 Impact Report
Published on November 13, 2024
The Migration Summit – launched in 2022 by Na’amal, the MIT Refugee Action Hub (now MIT Emerging Talent), and Karam Foundation – is a global convening dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by refugee, migrant, and displaced communities. Over its three editions, the Summit has rapidly evolved from its original aim of bridging the gap between diverse stakeholders and fostering meaningful dialogue to driving actionable outcomes.
In its latest edition in 2024, the Migration Summit has progressed from meaningful dialogue to encouraging increased engagement and action. With a renewed emphasis on collaboration, the Summit now aims to drive concrete, tangible, real-world outcomes. We are proud to have built a community and to have expanded over the years, but we recognise our responsibility to leverage the collaborative strength of our community to shift mindsets, and spark action.
Unlike previous editions that spanned a full month, this year featured a focused week of virtual events from June 24th to 28th, complemented by in-person sessions extending from June 24th to July 22nd. The Organizing Committee also harnessed its strengths in engaging audiences, fostering an inclusive community, and leveraging social media reach to execute a mixed-media global campaign. This campaign spotlighted the often-underestimated talent and potential within displaced communities, specifically targeting a shift in mindset among corporate stakeholders.
